Access
Anyone wanting to visit Fox Holes, in the area south west of Wirksworth, please make a courtesy call in advance to the farmer, Peter Ward, on (reveal). Parking is not easy on Stainsborough Lane. Go through the gate onto the public footpath opposite Stainsborough Halls driveway. On entering the 2nd field, look right for the obvious mine-worked hillock. There are several small adits of varying sizes on the west and south side of the hillock, just above Sprink Wood.
