Access
Gated and locked, contact Wirksworth Mines Research Group. Access not normally allowed during winter to protect hibernating bats. The lower level is best accessed from the B5023 lane from Ryder Point to Middleton. Look for a small break in the wall that runs along the north side of the lane with a step down and the coe and level are below and to the right. Nearest parking is in the layby on the north side of the Via Gellia at SK 26575 56553. The middle level is about 100 feet further up the steep valley side opposite the break in the wall at SK 26401 56379.
